QUICK NOTES FOR 3.3.2010

Todays Learnings -

Bass is not always needed during a main part, it can be funky and great without one.

Long resonating highhats can sound nice too...especially 1/8th.

A quick vocal clip used once every bar can be nice instead of a highhat.

Round basses resembling Marimbas can be nice as basses, not just low tech house sounds.

Break the beat into something completely different and unique can be powerful, like a nice vocal loop.

Build ups or sweeps do not have to be actually sweeps, they can be nice high sustained synths and brought up with a low pass filter and volume together.

Random actions can sometimes be the best, like accidentally using my microkontrol to control what I have programed into the drum kit to accidentally find nice melodies.

Its better to make chords within a synth rather than sample them, because you want automation control of the attack and release for a nice effect.

MAKE MORE SYNTH MELODIES. YOU NEED THEM.

Also, im staying DEEP to much....need to make nice high synths for PARTY MUSIC.

Also, MORE PANNING before sending the mastering company! Dont underestimate panning...and use autopan for nicely quantized pans!
